This is the only picture I could find that showed it, because I don't think he was wearing it in the other movies. Fail HP7 makeup artist, total fail. But I still love him by the end of that film! No spoilers though, don't worry.
It's so awkward once you notice it. Poor Snape-y.

Yes, I've noticed it since his very first apparition in the first trailer version. And I must say it's a shame... but as you said, he's still the best. More than ever. Let's say he was pretty tired.
